They will equip you with an appropriate gun, this might be a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge shotgun. 20 gauge shotguns are perfect for novice ladies and young shots as they are much lighter guns and also produce far less recoil when coupled with our specially loaded cartridges.
Once out on the shooting range, they will go through several safety steps and handling of the shotgun.
This is a commonly asked question and many people are worried about whether shooting a shotgun will hurt. If you have an appropriately fitting gun and you are standing correctly, it shouldn’t. The instructor will make sure that you are comfortable and all areas are correct before they allow you to pull the trigger for the first time to eliminate any discomfort.
No you don’t need a licence to give clay shooting a go with us. We hold a Section 11(6) from the Police that allows us to provide a safe and professional environment for non licence holders/beginners to shoot under the instruction of our professional instructors.
Anyone who has had a custodial or suspended sentence are prohibited from using a firearm of any sort.
All non-licences holders must fill in firearms act section 21 form, stating that they are not a prohibited person for the Police
You will shoot a variety of different clay pigeon targets under the guidance of your instructor, who will soon have you smashing clays!
The minimum age is 10 years old to shoot a shotgun. Anyone attending under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (over 18 years old).
We also offer Air Riffles and/or Catapults for those that wish not to use a shotgun.
No, you do not have to use a shotgun if you wish not to, we also offer Air Riffles and/or Catapults.
Only licence holders can use their own guns
Yes certainly, if you feel in need of moral support spectators are very welcome too. We ask not to bring more than 8 members due to safety reasons.
