Essex & Herts Shooting School
From our beautiful countryside site, in the Parkers Farm overlooking the city of Takeley, we are proud to be able to cater for both complete beginners and established shooters.
We can offer the experienced gun a range of targets to hone their skills along with experienced game shooting instructors to guide you and assist in building your shooting skills.
For the novice shooter we specialise in small group, or 1 to 1, tuition. Our fully customisable layouts allow us to show a variety of targets and our highly experienced instructors are both friendly and knowledgeable, instantly putting you at ease and allowing you to concentrate on the most important aspect of clay-pigeon shooting – having fun!
Because of our small and intimate layouts, along with our insistence on smaller groups during tuition, we find that a lot of novice shooters (and to be honest a lot of experienced shooters!) find it a lot more comfortable to shoot at our site as opposed to one of the larger competition or discipline orientated clay-grounds.

We believe the best way to produce an accurate shooter takes our unique blend of coaching and gun fit.
Gun fit is integral to the one-to-one lessons provided by one of our team of coaches at Essex and Herts Shooting School.
In your lesson, you will learn stance, gun mount safe handling and how to fire the shotgun.
Upon arrival, you’ll be equipped with all the latest safety gear whilst being presented with a full safety briefing from our qualified instructors. Expert instructors, with a vast amount of experience in the field of Clay Pigeon Shooting, will be on hand to provide you with valuable tips and tricks throughout – meaning you’ll be smashing clays in no time!
